Inspired by the late American photographer Mike Disfarmer in the 1940's, I was commissioned to take portraits of The Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, the UK's leading orchestra that plays on original instruments. Using an old plate camera, I ended up shooting in the mechanics garage next door as this proved to be the best location in terms of backdrop and lighting.
